What I’m Reading: Summer Edition
I cannot believe summer is here! The past 6 months have really flown by for me…
Well it is time to share the next couple books I will be reading! I just want to say that already I’ve read 6 books & that is more than I have read in the last couple years (darn those college course loads!) & I couldn’t be happier. I am so glad that I started these monthly book reviews, even though at times it has been a little stressful… For April I didn’t even get to post my book review until a few weeks into May– oops! But overall it has been a super positive & enjoyable experience.
For June I will be reading King & Maxwell by David Baldacci. I received this book as a Christmas gift from my husband’s father. I am not going to lie, when I opened up the present I was very thankful, but this kind of genre isn’t usually what I reach for. I have let this book sit on my shelf for far too long, especially because I believe this was given to me on our first or second Christmas, & let’s just say we’ve had quite a few more since then. I’ve heard that these books are really quick & enjoyable reads so I think it’ll be the perfect way to start the summer. We will see!
Next in July I will read The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I know this book is going to be a favorite of mine. I can just tell. The Unbearable Lightness of Being has gotten so many rave reviews & has been on my list for a while now. I started reading a chapter or two several years ago, but got too bogged down with course work to ever really get into it. I am excited to see how I like this one, mainly because I’ve built it up so much in me head. Fingers crossed!
Lastly for August I will be reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch. Ah, White Oleander… has anyone seen the movie? I saw it back when I was in high school, of course now I barely remember any of it at all. I know it was about a relationship between a mother & a daughter… is that right? I think this one is going to be a really well written book, but also maybe a little bit difficult in terms of content.
So there you have it! These three books will accompany me through summer. I can’t wait to dive in & share my thoughts with you.
Cheers & stay chic!
